2021 Superbike calendar changes again: Assen’s round has been delayed, with Estoril which will host the opening race of the season

2021 World Superbike season has a new provisional calendar on the line. Dorna Sports has to change again their plans for WorldSBK and made another variation at the 2021 season. The World Championship start date should be for April in Netherlands at Assen, but Covid-19 restrictions forced to modify everything. Dutch government denied every event until 1st of June, but we could see this scenario in the future as well.

For the moment championship’s start is set for 7th of May in Portugal with Estoril which should host the opening round of 2021 Superbike season. Assen’s one has been delayed to 23rd of July. Anyway it’s pretty clear that we will face other calendar changes in the next months considering the evolution of Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite Coronavirus restrictions, Dorna confirmed the extra-European races in Argentina, Indonesia and Australia.
The last one has still to be confirmed and subject to contract as Estoril, while we have another round to be defined.
It’s pretty clear that this is a provisional calendar with a lot of changes to be made in the future.
