BSB: Reigning Champion Leon Haslam makes his prediction about 2019

One of the best characteristics of British Superbike Championship is the great activity done on social media, as their goal is to reach as many people as they can and interact with them. Recently, the Twitter account of the championship (@OfficialBSB) addressed the fans a simple question: “Who will be top dog in 2019 BSB?“. One of the people who answered the question is Leon Haslam, who spoke his opinion about it.

Obvious choices @JoshBrookes @GIrwinRacing“, wrote Pocket Rocket, indicating Glenn Irwin, Leon’s successor on Quattro Plant JG Speedfit Kawasaki, and 2015 BSB Champion Josh Brookes as the main favourites for this year’s title fight.

But Leon’s tweet is a bit longer than this: “But my danger man would be @tazmac95 (Tarran Mackenzie, ed). But saying that so many new to bsb that can surprise“. Haslam means that this year’s rookies may “bother” the specialists of the championship and that phrase may refere also to former MotoGP and WorldSBK riders Scott Redding and Xavi Forés.

Last year, Leon Haslam finally managed to become British Superbike Champion after scratching that goal in 2017 and being the runner-up in 2005, 2008 and 2016. Overall, 2018 saw “Pocket Rocket” scoring 15 wins and 6 more podium finishes out of 26 races, as he scored points at every single race…
