The debut on the world stage of 2018 BSB breakthrough. After some rumours heard in the past weeks, today it’s become official: Bradley Ray, who has just turned 21, will race in World Superbike at Donington Park as a wildcard, always with Hawk/Buildbase Suzuki. In this case, his Suzuki GSX-R 1000 will be closer to BSB specifications than to WorldSBK ones.
At th beginning of the season Bradley Ray took the lead of British Superbike Championship by winning both races at Donington Park and for this new venture he aims for surprising everybody. On the same track, the rider from Ashford has become the second youngest race winner in BSB with 20 years and 320 days of age (close to recordman Jonathan Rea, who won at Mondello Park in 2007 when he was 20 years and 104 days old) and next weekend he will fly there from Japan. Yes, because in the next few days Ray will be in Japan for an audition, since he may represent Yoshimura Suzuki at Suzuka 8 Hours.
Bradley Ray will not be the only wildcard racing in World Superbike at Donington: we will see once again Leon Haslam (Puccetti Kawasaki) and also Gino Rea (OMG Racing Suzuki) and Mason Law (Team WD-40 GR Motorsport Kawasaki). Moreover, they will be joined also by Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Junior Team Ducati), contesting all the 2018 European Rounds, and also Niccolò Canepa, who will race as a wildcard with Yamaha Motor Europe.
