Team Motors Events is one of the most iconic and successful teams in FIM EWC. The Suzuki squad owned by former Endurance Champion Hervé Moineau and managed by Marc Mothre was able to win FIM Endurance Superstock Cup twice (in 2011 and 2013) and they even scratched EWC title in 2016, before moving from Suzuki to Honda. However, the team struggled in 2017 with CBR1000RR and so they moved back to Suzuki last year. Since 2018 Bol d’Or, the team has returned racing in Superstock class, as they’ll try to win FIM Endurance World Cup.
After contesting 2018 Bol d’Or with Baptiste Guittet, Kev Coghlan and Gregory Fastré (the latter moving to MotoTech Yamaha), Team Motors Events will face the remainder of 2018/2019 season with three other riders combining experience in Endurance and sprint races, as EWC veterans Adrien Ganfornina and Johan Nigon have been joined by former BSB rider James Westmoreland, who previously contested British Superbike Championship with Motorpoint Yamaha, Team WFR Honda (7th overall in 2012) and JG Speedfit Kawasaki (with which he scored a podium in 2015 at Thruxton)
Westy used to be a title contender in British Supersport and a good BSB performer and now he’s set for FIM EWC return, as he’ll represent Team Motors Events at the upcoming 24 Heures Motos du Mans scheduled on 20th-21st April. As usual, Motors Events will also line-up a second Suzuki GSX-R 1000 for Team 212 Dunlop Motors Events, whose riders will be Kevin Jaeck, Christopher Beaty, Nicolas Deser and Cédric Boissenin).
