After a difficult race in Qatar, Aprilia Racing Team Gresini gets ready to the second round of the season. Both Scott Redding and Aleix Espargaro feel confident about the Argentinian track, even with a new surface and the high possibility of rain during the weekend. Nevertheless, the riders are sure about the potential of the RS-GP 2018 and they are determined to show it again in Termas de Rio Hondo. The British rider concluded the Qatar GP in 20th due to a loss of grip, while the oldest of the Espargaro boys lost a place in top ten for a pump draft problem: both Gresini bearers want to turn the page in Argentina.
Scott Redding
“After the Qatar GP, feelings weren’t so good, but I’m sure we can solve the problems we had during the race. The RS-GP behaved good until that moment. Probably we missed something and we will concentrate on it in Argentina. We brought several new components on the RS-GP 2018 and it’s fundamental to analyse all the data and the behaviour of the bike, so we can find a base to work on during the weekend.”
Aleix Espargaro
“We must continue to work. In Qatar the feeling during the race was pretty good, but then we had a bad inconvenience that prevented us to gain a top ten. I’m confident because we confirmed our strong points, especially in the race distance, but we can improve during the qualifying. We are just at the beginning of the season, we set some difficult but ambitious goals and we have the right credentials to make a strong season.”
