Moto2 riders had to face FP2 on the Red Bull Ring on an extreme wet conditions, with the two forerunners of the NTS RW Racing Team who definitely managed to stand out. Steven Odendaal registered the best time of the session, closely followed by his teammate Joe Roberts and by Luca Marini.
The second round of Moto2 FP started in the rain, with all riders forced to race in very different conditions compared to this morning. Due to these conditions, the ranking that came out from this session of FP is a peculiar one: Roberts took the lead followed by Gardner and Pawi, but all riders were clearly suffering the adverse conditions of the circuit and soon enough some of them fell down, in particular, Lowes, Mir, and Nagashima (the latter almost surfing on his bike).
Eventually, the two riders of the NTS RW Racing Team, Steven Odendaal and Joe Roberts, gained the head of the round’s ranking, followed by Luca Marini, Remy Gardner, and Khairul Idham Pawi. Xavi Vierge got the 6th place ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Andrea Locatelli. Tetsuta Nagashima and Francesco Bagnaia got the last two positions in the top 10. Miguel Oliveira finished 30th, while Federico Fuligni and Mattia Pasini didn’t set a lap time.
