Moto3 Austria, QP: Marco Bezzecchi is first, Jorge Martín is great

Rain affected today’s Moto3 QP and the best part of the session was the final one, when the track turned dry and rain tyres turned slick. The protagonists were title contenders Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martín, who fought for the pole till the end. Finally the current championship leader won the duel, but the Spaniard deserves a standing ovation for what he did, since he was just 78 milliseconds slower than Bezzecchi, despite the wrist injury suffered at Brno. Behind them, the first row is closed by Albert Arenas. Tomorrow’s race will start at 11:00am local time and for sure it will be one not to miss.

The session was affected by the rain fallen just before the start, but all the riders hit the track to make the track dryer and dryer. Finally the wet disappeared and so Moto3 youngsters could push at the most to secure a good position. The fight for the pole was an exciting head-to-head between Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martín and finally the PrüstelGP rider grabbed pole position by just 78 milliseconds, while Albert Arenas ranked third behind Martín and ahead of Tony Arbolino, Gabriel Rodrigo and Marcos Ramírez.
