The current World Champion Marc Marquez managed to win after a long-lasting battle among eight riders. Alex Rins and Maverick Viñales also stepped on the podium.
MotoGP gave us a fiercely fought race, with 8 riders fighting every single minute until the chequered flag. Eventually, Marc Marquez crossed the finish line first, conquering another victory ahead of Alex Rins, who takes Suzuki back on the podium, and Maverick Viñales, again in the top three after Austin.
An excellent beginning for Marquez, but an even better one for Lorenzo who managed to climb up to the 2nd (from position 10th on the starting grid) in just two turns. The two riders started fighting for the leading position, giving us a series of overtakes that involved the six riders behind them too. Lorenzo and Rossi gave us the chills when the Italian rider hit the rear of the Spanish rider’s bike. Nakagami got a 1.5-secs penalty for cutting the chicane. Rins and Marquez almost hit each other when fighting for the 2nd place; but it was Petrucci who ended up falling down, leaving the race ten laps early. Then Simeon had to withdraw from the race too, and Iannone got a 2-secs penalty.
Just two laps before the end, and after a very exciting race with a lot of amazing overtake, Marc Marquez took the lead and managed to gain a large margin from the following riders, conquering another great victory. Alex Rins and Maverick Viñales crossed the finish line after him, while Dovizioso didn’t make it to the podium. Valentino Rossi got the 5th position, ahead of Cal Crutchlow and Jorge Lorenzo. Johann Zarco and Alvaro Bautista filled up the last two positions in the top ten.
