MotoGP, Bagnaia flyes and gets pole position in Qatar

Francesco Bagnaia in pole position for the first round of 2021 season. He broke the previous record, followed by the Yamahas. Quartararo is second, Vinales pushes Rossi off the first row

In Qatar, there’s a war between Ducati and Yamaha but Francesco Bagnaia gets the pole position with a stunning flying lap. He smashed the previous record, dropping it under the wall of 1:53. The Italian made Ducati happy of their choice. Yamaha boys follow in second, third and fourth position.

The first qualifying session starts with Joan Mir, the three Honda riders, all the KTMs, and all the rookies. Martín crashes at turn 12 right at the checkered flag, while Takaaki Nakagami appears and at the last, he is in front of everyone! Joan Mir passes with him, while Enea Bastianini is the first excluded by only 5 thousandths.

The battle between Ducati and Yamaha keeps going but there’s only one poleman: Francesco Bagnaia. Quartararo is the first to rewrite the new absolute record in the second half of the round, lowering it by about three tenths. But Francesco Bagnaia arrives breaking the wall by 1:53 and securing first place on the grid. Fabio Quartararo is 2nd, and Maverick Viñales pushes the Doctor in the second row.
