MotoGP, Fabio Quartararo: “In Losail we will find out the new Yamaha”

Fabio Quartararo is looking forward to arriving in Qatar for the first 2021 MotoGP test. Progress is expected on the Yamaha M1, to find more grip at the rear.

Being the best poleman of the 2020 season was not enough. Nor it was winning three races. Fabio Quartararo is looking for more consistency in the results, as well as a better grip for his YZR-M1. While waiting for the first IRTA test in Losail, the French expects improvements on the 2021 prototype. Engines will remain the same, but it is possible to work on every other sector to make the most out of the new Michelin rear tire. Starting with the chassis and exhaust where updates are expected immediately.

From his side, Quartararo will have to deal with external and internal pressure. He is joining the factory team, this means greater technical support, but also greater expectations. “I know I can win, fight for the podium, and take pole position.  We will reset the counter and start a new season. I know what I can do, I know that Yamaha is working very hard and that it will be a great season.” Fabio is optimistic and it couldn’t be otherwise. At least until he gets to Qatar. “I can’t wait to see the changes we have on the bike, whether it will be much better or not. I always look at the phone to see what date it is, how many days are left in Qatar. The preseason is long and I can’t wait to get to the Doha circuit to try it out. “

Quartararo is training hard with the dirt bike. ‘El Diablo’ will not only have to deliver convincing results but also lead the evolution of the M1 alongside Maverick Vinales. “I know my skills, I’m ready to give it all and train really hard. Yamaha will give everything, so I’m ready for the challenge.”
