There was a tense atmosphere following allegations of financial impropriety (always rejected) made against Team Principal Michael Bartholemy during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend in Jerez, and a cancelled meeting with team boss Marc van der Straten didn’t help to clarify the situation. Now there are some big news: Gianluca Montiron will be the new consultant of the team.
New website columnist for Corsedimoto.com, Montiron spent twenty year of his life as a manager in the MotoGP World Championship, living as Aprilia Racing coordinator the titles won by Biaggi, Rossi and Capirossi in 250cc. In 2002 he moved up to MotoGP, leaving his mark in situations such as the entry of Bridgestone. With his JiR team he launched riders such as Dovizioso, discovering then in Moto2 the young and talented Johann Zarco. One of the few managers to won in every category, Montiron left his role in 2015 for different activities. For him it means a comeback as a main character in the world he worked for two decades.
