Jeremy Burgess worked as crew chief for Wayne Gardner and Mick Doohan and then he spent many seasons alongside Valentino Rossi. Despite leaving MotoGP in 2013, when the Italian sacked him, the Australian has never been forgotten and today he spoke some nice words about Marc Márquez.
Márquez may beat all the records set by the nine times World Champion and in some people’s opinion, he may even win more than Giacomo Agostini (who boasts 15 titles). Jeremy Burgess goes further: the Spaniard can be the first and only rider to win championships with three different manufacturers. He said that on Twitter: “Marc is still very young and he can become World Champion on three different bikes“.
Giacomo Agostini, Valentino Rossi, Eddie Lawson, Casey Stoner and Geoff Duke won championship titles with two manufacturers, but no one has done it with three yet. If he did it, Márquez would do something unique and, maybe, unrepeatable: “Marc is quite young and it would be interesting to see him on a different bike“. Last year someone said that the Spaniard could leave Honda, but no proposal convinced him: Yamaha would never put him and Valentino Rossi in the same team, Ducati has spent too much money on Jorge Lorenzo and nowadays KTM is not competitive. Honda is still the best choice for Márquez, but let’s see what happens after 2020…
