MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo to miss Sepang Test due to training injury

Following the injury suffered while training in Italy, Jorge Lorenzo underwent a surgery in Dexeus Universitary Hospital. The surgery was performed by Xavier Mir’s team.

The new Repsol Honda Team rider will miss upcoming IRTA Sepang Test, as Lorenzo will focus on the healing from such injury in order to be fit for Qatar Test, scheduled at the end of February. However, Lorenzo will be at the official team presentation, taking place on 23rd January in Madrid.

The three times MotoGP World Champion suffered a left scaphoid fracture while training in Italy and he flew back to Spain after undergoing the first checks in Peschiera del Garda (near Verona). During the surgery, a plate was inserted in Jorge’s left wrist, as the Spaniard had already injured it in 2018. Lorenzo will have to spend four days of total relaxation and then he will start the recovery process. Repsol Honda Team will face Sepang Test with just Marc Marquez, who’s still recovering from the surgery he had last December.
