Jorge Lorenzo took the lead of the second round of FP on Friday, followed by Danilo Petrucci, Andrea Iannone, and Andrea Dovizioso.
This FP2 registered considerably quicker times compared to this morning’s FP1. Jorge Lorenzo’s time is the best example, as it allowed him to get the 1st place even in the combined ranking. Danilo Petrucci arrived just behind him, ahead of Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso. Tomorrow at 9.55 AM there will be the third and most important round of FP.
The most noticeable news on track today was Stefan Bradl’s participation. The HRC tester will be on track for the rest of the German Grand Prix, riding the RC213V instead of Franco Morbidelli because the latter is recovering from a bad injury to his left hand. This is an incredible occasion for the 2011 Moto2 Champion as he has never been racing in MotoGP again after Valencia 2016.

In the first few minutes, the wildcard Kallio crashed at high speed on Turn 8, literally thrown by his KTM against the air fence. The Finnish rider managed to stand up, but he looked clearly in pain and was taken to the Medical Center for checkups. Simeon slipped on Turn 3 but managed to re-enter immediately.
In the meanwhile, Marquez took the lead ahead of Viñales, Bautista, and Crutchlow. After them came Lorenzo and Dovizioso, and the situation remained stable until the last few minutes, when the Majorcan rider managed to make a very quick lap: he registered the best time of the day finishing in less than 1:21 ahead of his brand-mate Danilo Petrucci and Andrea Iannone. Andrea Dovizioso arrived 4th, followed by Marc Marquez and Maverick Viñales, rookie Takaaki Nakagami finished 7th ahead of Jack Miller, Cal Crutchlow, and Alvaro Bautista.
