MXGP Germany, Qualifying: Jeffrey Herlings ready for another double

At Teutschenthal Jeffrey Herlings took it seriously already in Qualifying Race. The young Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team rider led the race from the start till the chequered flag and so he won by beating Gautier Paulin and Tim Gajser. In the meantime, his rival Antonio Cairoli had to content with 7th place, due to a fall in the final stages.

ALWAYS FIRST – Herlings took immediately the lead after the start, when he went first by overtaking Paulin and Cairoli. The Dutchman increased his advantage on the Husqvarna rider till reaching a good gap and then he maintained it till the end. Meanwhile, Cairoli was third and tried to catch Paulin, but towards the end of the 20 minutes of race (followed by two further laps) he went down to seventh due to a small crash.

RESULTS – In the end Herlings won ahead of Paulin and Tim Gajser, while Jeremy van Horebeek and Romain Febvre ranked fourth and fifth. Jeremy Seewer, Antonio Cairoli, Julien Lieber, Alessandro Lupino and Glenn Coldenhoff are the other riders in the top 10. Just 21st place for Clement Desalle, who crashed in the early stages of the race.

MX2 – In the under-23 class Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado won Qualifying Race with 11 seconds of advantage on Pauls Jonass, current championship leader and Prado’s team-mate. Third place for South African Honda rider Calvin Vlaanderen, who was followed by Thomas Kjer Olsen and Thomas Covington.
