MXGP Latvia: Jeffrey Herlings wins Qualifying race

Jeffrey Herlings dominated the Qualifying race of MXGP of Latvia, seventh round of 2018 MXGP World Championship. On the sand of Kegums, near the Latvian capital Riga, the Dutch KTM rider took immediately the lead after a good start and then he kept an unreachable pace till the end, when he crossed the finish line with 50 seconds of advantage on Clement Desalle (Kawasaki). Hard start for Antonio Cairoli (KTM): the nine times World Champion was involved in a group fall at the first corner and this pushed him back to 24th position, but then he brilliantly recovered till 3rd position by overtaking also riders such as Glenn Coldenhoff, Jeremy van Horebeek and Romain Febvre.

MX2 – The Spaniard Jorge Prado (KTM) won MX2 Qualifying race by defeating his rival, home hero and championship leader Pauls Jonass, who finished just 12th. Ben Watson and Hunter Lawrence finished 2nd and 3rd.
