MXGP: Many World Championship riders to do some winter racing in Italy

On Sunday 27th January, the Italian circuit of Riola Sardo, located in Sardinia region, will host the first round of 2019 Italian “Internazionali d’Italia” Motocross Championship and the three rounds taking place in Sardinia, Ottobiano and Mantua will be attended by plenty of World Championship riders.

As usual, the main favourite for the win is Antonio Cairoli and the season finale taking place in February in Mantua will see on the field also his rival and team-mate Jeffrey Herlings, who has decided to miss the first two rounds to focus just on the final one.

Yamaha Racing will attend the International Italian Championship with both Romain Febvre and new entry Jeremy Seewer, while Husqvarna will count on Lithuanian star Arminas Jasikonis, as Pauls Jonass will start his racing season at the first 2019 MXGP Round (scheduled in Argentina). Moreover, MXGP Veteran Maximilian Nagl will contest the round hosted in Ottobiano with KTM Sarholz Team.

Sardinia racing will take place on Sunday from 10:00 am local time. 450 and 250 riders will respectively contest Race 1 and Race 2 and then the best of each category will attend the Superfinal.
