Angel Stadium in Anaheim hosted the first press conference of 2019 AMA Supercross FIM World Championship, whose start will take place today 5th January 2019. There, journalists asked questions to many riders, including reigning Champion Jason Anderson, Eli Tomac, Ken Roczen and Marvin Musquin. The main topic was how they prepared for the new season.
Jason Anderson was also asked a question about people believing he won’t win the title again. Here’s how he answered: “Do people think that I won’t retain the crown? I don’t care, I’ll try to do it. I don’t really care of what people say, because I have set some goals and I’ll wor hard to achieve them all. Last year Tomac won many races, but we know how it ended. I just want to focus on myself and my goals”.
Eli Tomac, who’s considered as the one to beat, was asked a question about a back injury he suffered little time ago. Here’s what he said: “I feel fine and you’ll see it. Even if I had raced a full season last week, I would have done great. About this season, I hope the start will be better than one year ago”.
Ken Roczen is back after the injury he suffered last year in San Diego: “I feel great – said the HRC Honda rider – and my arms had never felt so good, so it feels like I had no injury in the past two years. In the last few seasons I waited till half December to be fit, but this year it’s gone much better”.
Also French KTM rider Marvin Musquin was asked about an injury, since he blessed his knee some weeks ago. He said: “Compared to last year, I had to prepare in a different way, because of this injury. But now I’m OK and I’m here, so my goal has been reached”.
