Jorge Martin in front again, recording the best absolute time of the day during FP2. He is followed by Canet, Di Giannantonio, Bezzecchi, Dalla Porta and Bastianini.
The first day at Austin takes Jorge Martin’s name: the Spanish rider, already first at FP1, made the best absolute time of the day during FP2, ahead of Aron Canet and four Italian riders: Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Lorenzo Dalla Porta and Enea Bastianini. The third and last Free Practice will start on Saturday at 4PM Italian time.
Track’s conditions strongly improved compared to the first rounds, and times got better right from the start: Bezzecchi is the first to gain a leading position in the ranking, but he is quickly reached by Migno, Dalla Porta and Antonelli; later on also the World Champion Canet together with Martin, Di Giannantonio and Bastianini made their way to the leading positions.
This was a battled round in the Junior World Championship, starting right from the checked flag. Jorge Martin got this one too, doing a sparkling 2:17.423 and closing his first day as the uncontested leader. He was followed by Aron Canet ahead of an Italian contingent: Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Lorenzo Dalla Porta and Enea Bastianini. Phillip Oettl came 7th ahead of Niccolò Antonelli, while Livio Loi and Ayumu Sasaki took up the last positions in the top 10.
Here the other Italians: Andrea Migno fell in the last few minutes on Turn 4 with no chances to improve, closing 17th; he was followed by Tony Arbolino while Nicolò Bulega and his teammate Dennis Foggia arrived 23rd and 24th.
