Two rookies arriving for LCR E-Team. Kevin Zannoni and Miquel Pons make up Lucio Cecchinello’s team line-up for the MotoE 2021 championship.
Lucio Cecchinello‘s LCR team has its line-up for the MotoE 2021 season. Here comes a couple of rookies in the electric category. They are the reigning CIV Moto3 champion Kevin Zannoni and Miquel Pons. These two drivers therefore will inherit the Energica Ego Corsa of Niccolò Canepa and Xavier Simeon (forced to forfeit due to overlapping with the FIM EWC).
THE POINT ABOUT THE TWO RIDERS
It will be an interesting challenge for the 20-year-old Italian, fresh from his second Italian Moto3 title. Remember, Kevin Zannoni also has the experience of the CEV category behind him, as well as some wild cards at world level. “For a long time I have dreamed of competing in a category with international level drivers,” he said: “I finally made it. I’m coming from Moto3 and certainly the MotoE will be a very different bike. I’ll work to be competitive soon. Thanks to Lucio Cecchinello for this opportunity. ”
The future boxing mate is the 23-year-old Majorcan Miquel Pons, a great protagonist in the Supersport class in ESBK (he was vice-champion four times). We also saw him in the CEV Moto2 (both in this class and in the Superstock 600), as well as in WorldSSP. “For me it is a great opportunity and I want to make the most of it” he underlined: “I want to thank Lucio Cecchinello for his trust. Also the Hernandez family and Noboru Ueda for helping me in this step, as well as my family and all those who support me every day.”

Sure they will need time to understand the category, but they have proven to be competitive in the other championships they have run.
