
After a wet FP1, the second Free Practice session of World Superbike at Brno took place on a perfectly dry track and Jonathan Rea went back to where he usually is: first place!
The Northern Irish KRT rider led the way from the first till the last minute and at the end of the session, red-flagged after ten minutes following Yonny Hernandez’s crash at Turn 5 and later restarted, he topped the standings with two tenths of advantage on his team-mate Tom Sykes (1’59.448 against Tom’s 1’59.671). Sykes ranked second as he got closer to Rea in the final stages of the session.
Behind the Kawasaki duo, Marco Melandri was third after a lap in 1’59.795 performed during thre last minutes of the session. The Ducati rider from Ravenna was followed by Alex Lowes and Chaz Davies. Lorenzo Savadori, Leon Camier, Loris Baz, Michael van der Mark and Eugene Laverty closed the top 10. 11th place for Michael Rinaldi, who had led FP1 session on the wet track.
