Sunday morning’s Warm Up session at Imola saw Jonathan Rea in first place, as it has always happened so far on the Italian track. The reigning World Champion performed a lap in 1’46.549 and he was 399 milliseconds faster than Chaz Davies. Rea and Davies finished Race 1 in first ad fourth place and so they will start the second race respectively from ninth and pole position. May Davies dominate the race? Or will we see the long-awaited fight between the Welsh and Rea?
Behind them, Tom Sykes finished Warm Up in third place with almost half a second off Rea, while Marco Melandri ranked fourth followed by Xavi Forés. Michael van der Mark, Alex Lowes, Eugene Laverty, Leon Haslam and Toprak Razgatlioglu close the top 10.
To be remarked that Jordi Torres crashed in the early stages of the session at Variante Alta. Moreover, we have to report that Jason O’Halloran suffered a right leg fracture following his fall in Race 1. O’Halloran had come to Imola to replace injured Leon Camier at Red Bull Honda, but it lasted just FP3, Superpole 1 and two laps…
