The first day of Superbike tests in Misano ended: good sensations for the Aruba Ducatis. Rinaldi: “I worked on the chassis without looking at the lap”.
The riders of the Aruba Ducati team are archiving the first day of Superbike tests in second and third position. Scott Redding and Michael Ruben Rinaldi were in fact only slower than Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, leader of the day. However, the Ducatisti are not far off and on day 1 they were able to get back to work with the whole team in search of good solutions for the season that will start in May.
REDDING: “CHANGING FOR DEVELOPMENT IS FINE, BUT…”
“We can’t complain, the weather was good,” says Redding. “I’m happy to be back with Aruba and to be able to push, I was missing this feeling. Today was a day of shakedown to understand some things and get back the feeling with the bike“. The Briton has clear ideas for tomorrow: “I want to drive for myself. We have always changed a lot of things for development. Changing is good to find performance, but I think I can carry more riding the same bike for several runs in a row“. Focus on the second day: “We have some things to try and improve, but I would like to focus mainly on myself“.
RINALDI: “I WORK ON THE CHASSIS WITHOUT LOOKING FOR THE TIME”
Getting back to breathing Superbike air makes Rinaldi smile too. “First real day with Aruba, I’m very happy. We respected the work plan and did what we had to do“. Michael then goes into details: “I worked on the chassis, last year I had the 2019 bike while this year I will ride the 2020. I tried both bikes and solutions, I’m satisfied because we have drawn important conclusions without looking for the lap.” We look at the second day: “Now the work to be done is another, I’m happy because we did well and I’m satisfied with this first day“.
