Brno is getting ready for the upcoming World Supersport 300 Round and one thing to remark is the participaton of Alexandra Pelikanova. The young Czech rider will ride as a wildcard on a Yamaha lined up by Brno Circuit Junior Racing Team and she will be the third girl contesting the race weekend as she joins full entries Ana Carrasco and María Herrera.
Pelikanova (together with Karel Abraham and Ondrej Jezek in the photo) is 18 years old and she started her racing career back in 2014, when she raced for the first time on a minimoto. In 2015 she won the title in Czech championship in the Junior Open category and the year after she ranked second in Senior 50 category. In 2017 she started training on a Yamaha R3 and this year she’s taking part in European Supersport 300 Championship, included in Alpe Adria Road Racing series, and in Czech Championship. So far she has scored two ninth-place and one tenth-place finishes in the first three races of European SSP300, while in Czech Republic she even scored a second place.
Pelikanova has already cleared her goal for this venture: “I’ll try to stay in the pack and learn and I will fight to get the best result possible.” “Saša” will be the seventh girl taking part in at least one WorldSSP300 race. The other six are 2018 permanent entries Ana Carrasco and María Herrera, Spanish Andrea Sibaja Moreno (2017 Aragon and Jerez rounds) and Beatriz Neila (2018 Aragon), Kiwi Avalon Biddle (who contested 2017 season till Lausitzring) and Dutch Bibi Damen (2018 Assen).
