Supersport 300 Assen, FP1-FP2: Last-minute first place for Scott Deroue

World Supersport 300 Free Practice sessions at Assen saw Scott Deroue ranking first after FP2. The Dutch rider, who won last year on home soil, took the lead in the final stages of the second session with one lap in 1’50.887, that led him to first place in front of Koen Meuffels.

Meuffels, the winner of the opening 2018 round at Motorland Aragon, finished in second place in both FP2 and FP1-FP2 combined classification and all this after setting the pace in FP1 and duelling with Ana Carrasco all FP2 long. Third place for Carrasco, followed by Mika Pérez and two other Dutchmen as Robert Schotman and Glenn van Straalen. Van Straalen, who was second last year behind Scott Deroue, also suffered a small crash halfway FP2, but fortunately he escaped uninjured.

The other riders in the top 10, who will go straight to Superpole 2, are Dorren Loureiro, Galang Hendra Pratama, María Herrera and Mykyta Kalinin.
