Supersport 300 Donington, Superpole: Second pole for Ana Carrasco

“Oops, I did it again!”. After the pole position scored at Imola, Ana Carrasco grabbed th second one in a row by beating Koen Meuffels. The Spanish rider took her DS Junior Team Kawasaki to first position after passing Superpole 1, session she had to contest after struggling in Free Practice.

Going back to decisive SP2, Meuffels took the lead in the early stages by riding already very quick and lap by lap he went faster and faster till reaching 1’42.806. It seemed enough to secure pole position, but in the end it wasn’t, because Carrasco performed one last lap in 1’42.758 and so she beated the Dutchman by just 48 milliseconds. It looks like Carrasco and Meuffels have something more than the rest and it’s not unlikely to see them fighting in tomorrow’s race. We’ll see…

Behind Carrasco and Meuffels, also Mika Pérez is not far. The Spaniard riding for ParkinGO Kawasaki ranked third by riding in 1’43.035, with less than three tenths off the front duo. Second row for Jan-Ole JähnigEnzo De La Vega and Borja Sánchez. To be remarked that Sánchez is contesting UK Round thanks to crowdfunding, after the economic trouble had after Imola. Just 10th place for Scott Deroue, who was slowed down by technical issues after ruling in FPs.

14th place for Luca Grünwald, currently second in championship standings with three points less than Carrasco (48-45).
