The World Supersport 300 race at Imola was characterised not just by Ana Carrasco’s win, but also by the many crashes seen behind her. The most scary was the one involving Nick Kalinin at the third lap, when he fell after the straight and hit the wall, and the one that involved Robert Schotman and Manuel González. The two riders fell at Villeneuve during the fourth lap and Schotman was hit by the Spanish rider, who could not anything to avoid it.
Among the three above-mentioned riders, Robert Schotman is who has injured himself more seriously: the Dutch Motoport Kawasaki rider, taken to the hospital by helicopter, has suffered a few fractures in his pelvis and we don’t know yet how long he will have to rest before going back to racing. Manuel González (Yamaha MS Racing) has instead fractured his right collarbone and maybe he will undergo a surgery in Spain. For what concerns Nick Kalinin, the Ukrainian Kawasaki GP Project rider has suffered “just” a right astragalus fracture and some bruises and now he has to wear a cast till next week.
