GMT94 Yamaha has announced that Mike Di Meglio will not contest the next 2018 World Supersport events. After the disappointing results he got in Phillip Island (17th) and Buriram (18th), the 2008 125cc World Champion has decided to focus 100% on Endurance World Championship, where he will try to defend the title won last season together with Niccolò Canepa and David Checa.
The rider who will replace Di Meglio at the next WorldSSP Round, taking place in Motorland Aragon from 13th to 15th April, is Corentin Perolari. Ex-Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, the young rider from Bagnols sur Cèze currently participates in EWC with 33 Accessoires Louit Moto (one of the best teams in Superstock class) and in CEV Moto2 with Transfiormers and Promoto Sport Team. Here’s what he said: “This is an extraordinary opportunity for me. This is a dream that comes true and I’m very happy to debut in WorldSSP at Motorland Aragon, a track I particularly like. I want to thank GMT94 for this opportunity“.
