Supersport Donington: Ryan Vickers to debut in WorldSSP

CIA Landlord Insurance Honda has announced who will race at Donington Park as replacement for Niki Tuuli, recently gone to Moto2 World Championship. The team owned by ex-rider Simon Buckmaster will face UK Round with a 100% British pair, as Andrew Irwin will be joined by rising star Ryan Vickers.

Born in 1999, Vickers competes in National Superstock 600 Championship, where he currently leads the standings after winning the first three 2018 races. Here’s what he said: “I’d like to thank CIA Landlord Insurance Honda and everyone involved in making this happen. It is such a huge opportunity for me to get some exposure on the world scene. It is a big step, but my coach Alan Carter and I will work very closely with the team and just keep picking away. We’ve got no expectations this weekend, I’ll get used to the bike, start to pick up some pace and we’ll just do the best we can and see where we end up.

Ryan Vickers will share the pits with full-season entry Andrew Irwin. The younger brother of BSB rider Glenn is improving step by step in his first season on the world stage and he managed to score points at both Assen and Imola.
