The hottest topic of this long summer break concerns Nerds Racing Team. The Indian team is in serious trouble, according to what Andrea Ballerini said on 8th August, and they may close down very soon. For some weeks, the technical crew has already looked for (or found) a job in other teams and outside that, there’s been a seat hunt involving the two NRT riders: Thomas Gradinger and, especially, Jules Cluzel.
With three wins and two more podium finishes in his pockets, Cluzel lays second in championship standings 5 points behind Sandro Cortese, but all of this will vanish, if he doesn’t find another good seat. “Julo” nearly signed with Kawasaki Puccetti, but the Italian squad has finally chosen Héctor Barberá and now the Frenchman is looking for another opportunity.
The name of such opportunity may be GMT94 Yamaha. The team owned by Christophe Guyot may offer Cluzel a seat for the remaining four races, according to German website speedweek.com, and this could also grant Cluzel a competitive seat for 2019 season. Is it really going to happen? We’ll see…
