After the huge crash suffered during Free Practice at Assen, Anthony West underwent a surgery in the USP Institut Universitari Dexeus hospital in Barcelona, where he had the right wrist fracture fixed.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Xavier Mir, who fixed two compression screws in the Aussie’s wrist by using a “minimally invasive” technique. West was discharged from the hospital after remaining under observation for 24 hours and now he has to remain inactive for a week, before starting the recovery. The goal of the 36-year-old rider from Maryborough is to take part in the next World Supersport Round, scheduled from 11th till 13th May at Imola.
