Superstock 1000 Brno, Race: Maximilian Scheib takes wet first win

Just after Supersport 300 race, the rain started to fall on Automotodrom Brno and so the European Superstock 1000 riders had to face 12 laps on the wet track. After which the star of Maximilian Scheib definitely shone, as the Chilean scored his first win in STK1000 by dominating the race. Behind him, great performance from Italian sensation Alessandro Delbianco, who ranked second after a great recovery.

SCHEIB WINS – Maximilian Scheib triumphed on Czech soil after scoring many podiums this year and in 2017 and this result, due to Reiterberger and Roberto Tamburini finishing 4th and 8th, takes him to second place in championship standings with 90 points, just nine less than “Reiti”. Scheib proved that he loves riding his Aprilia on the wet track and now he can really fight for the title. But now he has to win also on the dry, if he wants to stop Reiterberger…

BRAVO DELBIANCO! – While Scheib kept an unreachable pace, Delbianco started a great recovery from 8th place. Just few laps before the chequered flag, he was in fourth place behind Reiterberger, who later overtook quite easily. The last obstacle for Delbianco was represented by Florian Marino and finally he stole second place from the Frenchman’s hands at the very last lap. This way the Althea Racing BMW rider scored his first podium finish at his fifth race in STK1000.
