Superstock 1000 Donington, FP1-FP2: Roberto Tamburini leads the way

The Friday Free Practice sessions of European Superstock 1000 at Donington Park went to the archives with Roberto Tamburini in first place. The Berclaz Racing BMW rider went first in the final stages by performing a lap in 1’30.663 and so he could go back to the lead after being passed by Markus Reiterberger.

Reiterberger, leading the championship with one more point than Tamburini (61 and 60), had to content with third placeafter being overtaken also by Maximilian Scheib. Alpha Racing-Van Zon-BMW’s German finished Friday Free Practice sessions with 1’30.742 as his best time, just 79 milliseconds slower than Tamburini. Fourth and fifth place for Florian Marino and Luca Vitali, whose gap is already higher than half a second.

After leading wet FP1 session, in FP2 Alessandro Delbianco ranked sixth ahead of Federico Sandi and Luca Salvadori. Danish rider Alex Schacht and Reiterberger’s team-mate Jan Bühn closed the top 10. Just 16th place for unlucky Riccardo Russo, who had a technical problem in the early stages of FP2.
