After struggling at Imola (where he scored a third row and a 5th-place finish), Markus Reiterberger went back to the throne at Donington Park. The German alpha Racing-Van Zon-BMW rider took the lead after the first 10 minutes of Qualifying Practice (lasting half an hour) and then he consolidated the pole position with one lap in 1’29.089, unreachable for all his opponents. Will he manage to win after Aragon-Assen double?
Behind “Reiti”, good performance by Roberto Tamburini and Alessandro Delbianco, as the two Italians ranked 2nd and 3rd and secured first-row start for tomorrow’s race. Stunning performance by Delbianco, who had never ridden on Donington Park before. The young Althea Racing BMW rider keeps surprising everyone after riding in the front at Imola and in the UK he may even score his first podium finish in STK1000, after the many collected in Italian Moto3 Championship.
After three BMW in first row, tomorrow we’ll see Maximilian Scheib‘s Aprilia starting fourth followed by Florian Marino and Federico Sandi, while the third row will welcome Luca Vitali, Jan Bühn (Reiterberger’s team-mate) and Riccardo Russo.
