After dry Free Practice sessions, the rain decided to fall on Imola and after the drops during Supersport Superpole, European Superstock 1000 Qualifying Practice took place on wet track. This heavily affected the results of the session andfor the first time we didn’t see Markus Reiterberger, Roberto Tamburini and Federico Sandi in the very first positions.
Anyway, pole position went to one of the best riders of the championship: Maximilian Scheib, who gave Aprilia first place. The Chilean fought for it with Italians Luca Salvadori and Alessandro Delbianco and finally he won the battle by performing a lap in 2’03.219. Behind him, Delbianco and Salvadori were just four tenths slower than Scheib and so they will start second and third. Remarkable performance for Delbianco, in first row after breaking his right collarbone last weekend.
Andrea Mantovani (wildcard) and Emanuele Pusceddu will start from second row together with Florian Marino, while Federico Sandi ranked seventh. Sandi will be joined in third row by Matteo Ferrari and championship leader Markus Reiterberger. The German, three times IDM Superbike Champion, closes top 10 together with Luca Vitali, tenth overall and seventh Italian in the classification.
