Markus Reiterberger dominated both STK1000 Free Practice sessions at Misano, where the sixth 2018 round of the championship is taking place.
After ranking first in FP1 with a lap in 1’37.040, “Reiti” proved once again his supremacy in the final minutes of FP2: the 1’36.791 lap he performed six minutes before the chequered flag was later improved till reaching 1’36.548. This time gave the Alpha Racing-Van Zon-BMW rider an easy first place, with six tenths of advantage on the rest.
Laying second is Matteo Ferrari, at his second wildcard appearance with Barni Racing Ducati. The rider from Rimini, who triumphed at Imola Round last May, ranked second in Friday standings with a lap in 1’37.153, 53 milliseconds faster than Maximilian Scheib (Aprilia Racing) and 62 faster than other wildcard entry Axel Bassani. Bassani, contesting his first race in European Championship on his DMR Racing BMW, ranked fourth ahead of Alessandro Delbianco (BMW Althea Racing), who finished fifth despite injured right shoulder.
